ACMA CGMA MBA DipPFS

I have been providing financial advice for over 30 years and have the knowledge and experience that you need to be confident that you are in safe hands.

As a career finance professional, I have always believed that the art of great financial advice is being able to simplify the complex concepts associated with this very broad subject.

I have been lucky enough to enjoy a long and varied career in a variety of positions across finance, corporate strategy and business development which ultimately culminated in building a Wealth Management and advisory business.

The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.

About

My expertise covers the broad spectrum of financial planning and will help you and your business to:

  • Grow wealth, specifically through St. James's Place's distinctive approach to investment management;
  • Build and create family wealth across the generations;
  • Adequately protect assets from potential threats.

I believe in effective communication to ensure that clients are kept informed of issues that may affect their financial well-being. I regularly publish a range of newsletters for my clients, including a weekly Market Bulletin and quarterly magazine, The Investor.

After completing my ACA training and accounting articles in South Africa, I realised that there was lot more to business than just accounting. While the practical and academic foundation gave me great insight into measuring the profitability of a company, I felt I needed to learn a lot more about how to do business. I needed more knowledge and experience.

Moving to the UK provided me with an opportunity to work in line management for the BBC before completing a Masters degree in Business Administration. This helped me to recognise my love for Economics. The combination of my MBA, accounting and work experience also gave me a true feel for how to grow businesses and wealth, beyond just finance. I spent many years helping organisations like the RAC PLC and Ascot Authority among others, build value through lowering costs, increasing turnover, or repositioning themselves in their market place.

During this time, I also got married, had a family, travelled extensively, requalified as a UK Chartered Management Accountant (no longer practicing) and completed my Diploma in Personal Finance to become a professional Financial Adviser.

In my experience, many talented people know how to make money but not all know how to keep it. My family are proudly fourth generation South African and we too built and lost our family wealth through the lack of good long term financial planning. Because if you fail to plan you plan to fail so, why wouldn’t a family want to retain their hard earned wealth through the generations? My breadth of experience, my academic knowledge and personal experience, has helped form my belief in wealth creation over the long term.

Today my extensive and varied background in finance helps simplify and demystify the wealth creation process. I help entrepreneurs, business owners and families to build family wealth across the generations. My objective is to help your family keep your Wealth so that future generations of your family can build on it and benefit from it.
